Lorraine Franco (b.1991) is a Dominican artist specialized in Fine Arts and Contemporary design.
After high school, she went on to study Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni in Milan, Italy; a time marked by a profound appreciation for classical art, design, and art history, ultimately leading her to discover a preference for tactile work. She then moved to the University of Miami to obtain Bachelor’s of Fine Arts (BFA) in Sculpture, Ceramics, and Painting, complemented by a Minor in Art History. There, she actively participated in several juried and group exhibitions, winning multiple awards.
Lorraine then returned to the Dominican Republic to open her eponymous art studio specializing in sculptures installations, where she now works full time, developing and designing new exhibitions and commissioned projects.
Lorraine has had an ever-increasing impact and recognition in the contemporary art scene, with renowned sculptures such as Nacida de Mi Tierra, exhibited during Design Week RD 2023, and La Bolita, granted an honorable mention at the Trigésima Bienal Nacional de Artes Visuales of the Museo de Arte Moderno.
